Oxford Speedway announce one-off prize draw for ticket holders to celebrate launch night

Oxford Speedway supporters have the chance to win a Cheetahs race suit signed by the entire squad next month by purchasing a ticket for Scunthorpe Scorpions’ visit on April 13.

The club is marking its first competitive fixture in over 15 years as part of Oxford Stadium’s regeneration by entering every e-ticket holder into a draw for the one-off prize which will take place on opening night.

The winner will receive former Grand Prix star and Cheetahs rider Troy Batchelor’s race suit and have the opportunity to be photographed with the team and club legend Hans Nielsen.

Supporters who have already purchased their tickets for Oxford Stadium’s highly anticipated launch night have been automatically entered into the draw. Club promoter Jamie Courtney has urged those yet to buy their tickets to do so quickly and avoid disappointment.

“This is going to be a memorable moment in Oxford Speedway history,” said Jamie. “We want our supporters to have the best possible race night experience to welcome them back, and what better way to do that than giving away a signed race suit to one lucky fan.

“The support we receive from our fanbase is going to be pivotal to our short and long-term success, and we want everyone who comes through our gates on Wednesday nights to feel welcome and valued.

“Response to tickets going on sale has been really positive and I cannot stress enough how important it is for those interested in attending to buy their tickets in advance. Not only will it guarantee your place on this historic night, but you could also end up walking away with one of our race suits.”

The competition launch was confirmed after Australian racer Batchelor became the first rider to publicly wear the Cheetahs’ 2022 race suit.

The 34-year-old made the journey north to Redcar’s ECCO Arena to support the launch of the British Speedway Network – a new online streaming platform broadcasting Championship speedway globally to new audiences.

Batchelor said: “The winter months are always long but it’s great to finally be counting down the days until we can go racing again.

“I’m especially excited for this season as being part of Oxford Speedway’s return will reconnect former supporters to the club and hopefully introduce a new generation of fans to speedway in the city.

“The race suit looks fantastic, hopefully I’ll be able to make some good starts on opening night and keep it as clean as possible for the winner of our prize draw!”
