Chargers host WSRA National League champions Edinburgh at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium on Sunday, September 27 – plus British Under-19 Championship preview

REAL MINI COMPANY Oxford Chargers will entertain newly-crowned WSRA National League champions Edinburgh Monarchs Academy at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium on a week on Sunday (September 27), with a start-time of 5pm.

With the date now fixed, the meeting will be the first at Cowley in five weeks and is highly anticipated. While the SD Timmo Car Sales Oxford Cheetahs have completed their fixtures for 2026, Chargers still have two meetings to complete – at home to Edinburgh and Buxton. A date still needs to be arranged for the Buxton clash.

Edinburgh Monarchs Academy were confirmed as winners of the WSRA National League, after rivals Leicester slipped up and lost at Middlesbrough on Friday evening. Edinburgh succeed Chargers – winners of the NL in both 2023 and 2025 – as champions.

Edinburgh have been the best team in the NL this season, winning all eight of their previous matches. Monarchs Academy require away wins at Oxford and Leicester to complete a 100 per cent record, while Chargers still have a chance of second place, if they can win their two remaining home meetings.

Tickets are on sale on the Oxford Speedway website at: https://oxfordspeedway.club/tickets/

Admission is available at the early bird price of £13 for all adults, which increases to £15 on Race Day. All under-16s go free. Ultimate Season Passes ARE valid for this meeting.

Please note, as usual with Chargers, the Unipart car park is NOT available for this meeting. On-site parking at the stadium is available for just £2, but it must be purchased at the same time as your online ticket. Any parking passes still apply.

On Race Day, there is now also the chance to buy tickets (plus parking) by cash or card at the box office (opening time to be advised).

Meanwhile, three Chargers go for glory in the British Under-19 Final at Plymouth tonight (Saturday). Jody Scott, Ashton Vale and Harry Fletcher are all in the line-up.

Chargers’ skipper Scott finished third in the competition at Oxford in 2024 and was second at Workington last season. This year is his last chance to win the British Under-19 Championship.

Jody Scott told Speedway Star magazine: “Plymouth can be a very hard track to get around but we all have to ride it. Hopefully it will be my day and I’ll bring back the trophy to Oxford.”

The line-up also includes Casper Kluczniak and Emerson Betty, who have ridden for Chargers as unattached guests in recent meetings.

Scott will start as one of the favourites, along with defending champion Luke Harrison, and Poole pair Cooper Rushen and William Cairns.

FULL DRAW FOR BRITISH UNDER-19 FINAL: 1 Ollie Binns, 2 Anika Loftus, 3 Charlie Southwick, 4 Will Cairns, 5 Ryan Ingram, 6 Harry Fletcher, 7 Emerson Betty, 8 Jody Scott, 9 Luke Harrison, 10 Casper Kluczniak, 11 Seth Norman, 12 Liam Greens, 13 Stene Pijper, 14 Ashton Vale, 15 Cooper Rushen, 16 Jordy Loftus.
