PREVIEW: Oxford Cheetahs head to Scunthorpe
SD TIMMO CAR SALES Oxford Cheetahs are looking to build on their 48-42 home victory over Plymouth from Wednesday evening when they travel to second-placed Scunthorpe in Cab Direct Championship action tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).
Such is the closeness of the league table, that Oxford could move into the play-off places with a victory, also dependent on the result of the Edinburgh v Redcar meeting tonight.
Cheetahs bring in former Oxford Charger Sam Hagon as a guest for Mitch McDiarmid, who is riding in the SGP2 (World Under-21 Championship) in Sweden. Scunthorpe are due to be at full strength.
Cheetahs’ manager Peter Schroeck says: “We built up some momentum with our victory over Plymouth at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium on Wednesday.
“It’s going to be tough, since Scunthorpe are a strong team around their home track, but we’ve got a good record around there.”
The next meeting at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium is next Wednesday (July 15) at 7.30pm, when the Real Mini Company Oxford Chargers take on the Edinburgh Monarchs Academy in a top-of-the-table WSRA National League clash. Tickets will be sale in due course on the Oxford Speedway website at: https://oxfordspeedway.club/tickets/
