Cheetahs Boost Ahead of Pirate Battle
The SD Timmo Car Sales Oxford Cheetahs powered by County Plumbing Supplies, have been boosted by the news that apart from Jordan Jenkins, they are at full strength as they make the tough journey south and take on the Poole Pirates in Cab Direct Championship action tonight (Wednesday), tapes up at 7.30pm.
The Cheetahs have had a number of injury and availability issues in recent weeks which has led to a number of narrow defeats. Poole currently sit at the top of the Championship table however, as the only team to have won at Wimborne Rd this season, Cheetahs will return with full confidence.
Team Manager Peter Schroeck knows there is a battle ahead
“We have a good record down there and we will be going back to do our best and give it our all
The table remains very close, with just four league points separating the bottom six clubs, so every point is vital. Whilst the Cheetahs currently occupy the fourth play-off spot this is only due to points difference
“It is a tough league, and I will concentrate on the Cheetahs and not worry about what the other teams are doing” Schroeck concluded when asked about which teams he was concerned about.
The Cheetahs then travel to Berwick on Saturday in another crunch clash before returning to Sandy Lane in a weeks time, against the Redcar Bears on Wednesday August 6th, 2025.
Teams:
Poole: Richard Lawson, Tobias Thomsen, Lewis Kerr, Zach Cook, Anders Rowe, Paul Starke, William Cairns
Oxford: Sam Masters, Cameron Heeps, Zaine Kennedy (g), Mitch McDiarmid, Jonas Knudsen, Luke Killeen, Francis Gusts
