Cheetahs To Bring the Curtain Down on 2024 Season
A patched-up Oxford Cheetahs side travel south to take on the Poole Pirates in the final speedway meeting of the 2024 season.
Despite only having the slimmest opportunity to take their first silverware since their return to the sport on 2022, Team Manager Peter Schroeck has promised to put on the best show possible
“We know there is a huge task ahead however we will go to Poole, put on a show and finish the season as best we can
Finding guests at this late stage of the season has not been an easy task
“Lots of riders have packed up for the year and not in a position to take the booking” he lamented.
The Oxford team will bear little resemblance to the side who beat the Pirates on their home soil back in the summer, as they will have only two of their regular septet taking to the track.
Sam Masters and Ashton Boughen will be the only two regular Cheetahs donning the Oxford kevlars!
Scott Nicholls, Jordan Jenkins, Luke Killeen and Adam Roynon remain on the injury list and will be replaced by Simon Lambert, Dan Gilkes, Ben Trigger and Connor Coles respectively.
In better news, Cameron Heeps is absent on paternity leave as he is about to become a father for the first time. Jason Edwards will take his place in the team.
Voting is underway for the rider of the season in each team, with the awards being presented at the end of season celebration being held this Friday. It is not to late to vote, head over to oxfordspeedway.club/team and have your say.
