Dates set for play-off semi-finals for Monarch Cheetahs
THE big dates have been set for the two legs of the Cab Direct Championship play-off semi-final between Monarch Oxford Cheetahs and the Scunthorpe Scorpions.
The first leg will take place at Oxford Stadium next Wednesday (September 11) at 7.30pm, with the second leg at Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway two days later on Friday, September 13 at 7.30pm. The aggregate winners will progress to the Grand Final, which will determine the Cab Direct Championship league champions.
Cheetahs qualified by coming second in the Cab Direct Championship league table, while Scorpions will finish third.
Oxford team manager Peter Schroeck said: “These are two huge meetings for our club and we would love to progress to the final this season.
“My job is to keep our riders calm and doing the same job that they’ve being doing all season. I have every confidence in the boys, but plenty of support from the terraces does make a big difference and I hope the supporters come along in numbers and are our eighth rider.”
Tickets are already on sale for the first leg on the Oxford Speedway website at https://oxfordspeedway.club/tickets/
Admission is available at the early bird price of £20 for all adults, which increases to £22 on Race Day. All under-16s go free. The first thousand adult tickets sold get a free drink (Drink options: Pint, small glass of wine, draught or soft drink).
A reminder that Oxford Speedway is online ticket sales only – tickets remain on sale on the website until the start-time of the meeting.
Also a reminder that Season Passes are NOT valid for the remainder of the season. The passes did not include progression in any competition and all 28 meetings (12 Spires, 11 Cheetahs and 5 Chargers) covered by the Ultimate Pass have all taken place.
