Monarch Oxford back onboard as Cheetahs’ title sponsor for a third year

Monarch Minibus and Car Service has extended its support to the regeneration of Oxford Speedway by backing the world-famous Oxford Cheetahs for a third successive season.

The Championship club will be known as the ‘Monarch Cheetahs’ for a third year thanks to the continued support of the Garsington-based firm.

Its team works in partnership with Oxford Ambulance Service to provide patients with private transport to and from hospital to ease the strain on NHS vehicles and allow staff to prioritise patients where necessary.

The move strengths the already established relationship between the club, Monarch and the firm’s owner Ken Soanes – who in November was formally recognised by Oxford Speedway for his contribution to the club with an end-of-season award.

Ken said: “It is a genuine privilege to have speedway back at Oxford Stadium – and to be at the heart of the Cheetahs operation is something everyone at Monarch is very proud of.

“Last season surpassed all expectations. While everyone was naturally devastated to narrowly miss out on a Grand Final spot, the work off-track meant the club connected new audiences to the sport which is great to see.

“I believe everyone’s enthusiasm has been renewed over the winter and with less than nine weeks to go until the bikes roar at Sandy Lane again the team is excited to get back trackside.

“The team, the atmosphere the club has generated on the terraces and backing from the Oxfordshire public makes partnering up with the club again a no-brainer. Bring on March!”

The Monarch Cheetahs’ 2024 campaign starts away from home to Poole Pirates on Friday, March 29, in the BSN Series with both team meeting back at Oxford Stadium on Wednesday, April 3.
