SIGNING! Chargers swoop for Kinsley on eve of season to cover for side-lined Stoneman

The WSRA Oxford Chargers powered by SD Timmo can confirm the signing of Ryan Kinsley ahead of the club’s National League season opener against Leicester Lion Cubs next week.

Based in Norfolk, Kinsley links up with the Chargers to fill the gap of Nathan Stoneman, who sustained an unfortunate shoulder injury at the beginning of the season while riding for Championship club Berwick Bandits.

The 24-year-old is a proven third-tier rider having represented King’s Lynn, Buxton, Mildenhall and Kent during his nine-year career. Highlights for Kinsley include lifting the National League Trophy with Mildenhall in 2018.

Kinsley’s Chargers debut will take place on Wednesday, May 10, when defending National League champions Leicester Lion Cubs visit Oxford Stadium (7.30pm).

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to beginning a new chapter in my career with Oxford Chargers,” said Kinsley. “Oxford is a prestigious club with a real feel-good factor right now, so to be part of the Chargers team is something I couldn’t turn down.

“The team looks very strong from top to tail and I see no reason why we shouldn’t be ambitious and challenge for silverware this season.

“It’s unfortunate this has come about as a result of Nathan’s (Stoneman) injury. I wish Nathan a speedy recovery and hope my experience at this level can contribute positively to a good season.”

WSRA Chargers Team Manager Peter Schroeck added: “We’re really pleased to have Ryan onboard this year.

“Replacing a rider of Nathan’s talent wasn’t going to be easy and it was a big blow when we learnt he’d be out for a long period of time with his shoulder injury. But Ryan is more than capable at this level and as a team we’ll work with him to get him dialled into the Sandy Lane circuit quickly.”

Tickets for the WSRA Chargers powered by SD Timmo’s season opener against Leicester Lion Cubs are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here. Adults are priced £12 and ALL U16s go free!

Doors open at 6pm and tapes-up is at 7.30pm.
