Youngsters encouraged to take advantage of club’s FREE ticket offer for all 2023 fixtures

Families are being encouraged to visit Oxford Stadium for a fun, alternative, night out on Wednesday when the Monarch Cheetahs host Edinburgh in the Knockout Cup first round.

Team Manager Peter Schroeck was overwhelmed by the turnout for Wednesday’s challenge fixture against Swindon Robins Select, which Cheetahs won convincingly 55-35.

He wants to keep the good times running and has called on families to take advantage of the club’s U16s go free offer so they can sample their first taste of Oxfordshire’s fastest team sport.

A number of efforts have been made to appeal to the next generation of Oxford Speedway fans and riders.

Before each meeting, the pits will be open to the public between 6pm and 6.30pm so the sport’s next generation can meet the stars of the shale, marvel at the 500cc machines and speak to members of management.

Schroeck said: “Whether you are a family of speedway enthusiasts or want to visit for the first time, Wednesday’s meeting against Edinburgh will be an exciting event for the whole family.

“For anyone aged 16 and under, Oxford Speedway’s previous era was active before they were born. We want to do all we can to raise the profile of our city’s fastest team sport, and the more children and young adults we can encourage through the doors the better.

“We’re continuing to engage with local schools and have several visits lined up during the summer term, which we’re very excited about. We have space available towards the end of the season, so schools interested in learning more are invited to contact the club today.”

Tickets for the Monarch Cheetahs’ Knockout Cup Round One first leg tie are available to purchase by clicking here. Adults are priced £20 (£22 on the day) and ALL U16s go free.

Schools interested in learning more about Oxford Speedway’s assemblies are invited to email [email protected].
