CLUB STATEMENT: Kent postponement

Oxford Speedway would like to wholeheartedly apologise to anyone inconvenienced by last night’s postponement of our National League fixture against Kent Royals at Oxford Stadium.

We are particularly sorry to supporters of both teams who had completed or started their journeys plus those who purchased tickets in advance and understand and share their frustration that the fixture did not go ahead.

Our regeneration campaign has been an extraordinary success and without the loyal support of our fanbase both at home and on the road our return to the shale simply would not be possible.

All supporters who purchased a ticket for the fixture will receive a full refund and the ticket will be valid for the re-staging date which will be confirmed soon.

Oxford Speedway Promoter Jamie Courtney said: “All options were explored to ensure last night’s meeting could go ahead after the club was notified no medical cover would be provided. As promoter I am truly sorry we could not find an alternative arrangement in the time we had and apologise for the inconvenience this caused.

“We want Oxford Speedway to be a long-term success and appreciate the support we have received through the season particularly in such challenging and uncertain times for many families.

“We hope our offer to refund tickets and make them valid for the fixture’s restaging can help us conclude what has been a mostly memorable campaign on a high.”
