Jody Scott in for Cheetahs

SD TIMMO CAR SALES Oxford Cheetahs will bring in fans’ favourite Jody Scott into their line-up for tonight’s clash (Wednesday, August 12 at 7.30pm) with the Workington Comets in the Cab Direct Championship at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium.

It was hoped that Erik Riss would be able to ride in this meeting but sadly the German has suffered further issues with his vision and this is no longer possible.

However, the good news is that Scott – the skipper of the Real Mini Company Oxford Chargers and in great form for Redcar in the Championship – will guest in place of Riss.

Oxford team manager Peter Schroeck said: “It’s absolutely gutting news for Erik, who wanted to finish the season with us. We have to remember the situation with his vision affects him both personally and professionally as a speedway rider. We’re sure all the supporters will join us in sending our best wishes to Erik.

“But a big thank you to Jody Scott for agreeing to take a last-minute guest booking. Jody is a huge fan favourite at Oxford, having been part of our club since Oxford Speedway returned in 2022.

“He is also a rider who will always give his best. This week, the Oxford fans can rest assured that there will be a rider in the No 3 spot who will give his absolute all for the Cheetahs.”

Tickets are on sale on the Oxford Speedway website at: https://oxfordspeedway.club/tickets/

Admission is available on Race Day at £23 for all adults. All under-16s go free. Spectators are also reminded that they will need to pay £2 when booking their ticket if they are planning to park in the Unipart car park. Parking at the Unipart car park is now fully restored and the club thank Unipart for their co-operation.

On Race Day, there is now also the chance to buy tickets by cash or card at the box office from 6pm.
