Full Strength Spires Go Again
For only the second time this season, the BetGoodwin Oxford Spires will track a full-strength side as they aim for their first win of the season away against the Sheffield Tigers at Owlerton Stadium on Thursday evening, tapes up at 7.30pm.
The Spires have had the worst start possible to the 2025 Premiership season, not helped by injuries to both Erik Riss and Peter Kildemand. Without a win to their name, the pressure is on for the team to deliver a result and take themselves off the foot of the Premiership table. Team Manager Peter Schroeck continues to support his side whilst knowing that things need to improve
“We just need to find that little bit extra – in terms of the Spires, we are being a tested at the moment” he mused.
Sheffield have also been hit with injury, as Tai Woffinden was injured in Poland before he was able to turn a wheel for his UK club. The Tigers have a new look to them with ex-Spire Lewis Kerr coming into the side along with Justin Sedgman.
The next action at Sandy Lane is on Sunday, when the Real Mini Company Oxford Chargers powered by A W Mobbs make their 2025 debut against the Middlesbrough Tigers, tapes up at 3pm. Tickets are on sale here.
Teams:
Sheffield: Jack Holder, Anders Rowe, Chris Holder, Justin Sedgman, Josh Pickering, Lewis Kerr, Leon Flint
Oxford: Rohan Tungate, Erik Riss, Charles Wright, Peter Kildemand, Maciej Janowski, Francis Gusts, Luke Killeen
