PREVIEW: Oxford Speedway’s Busy Week Continues

Two Oxford teams are on the road this week with the OXS Oxford Spires travelling to Kings Lynn in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership tonight (Thursday) before the Monarch Oxford Cheetahs travel to Glasgow in Cab Direct Championship action on Friday.

It will be the second away fixture for the Spires this week and although the odds are against them reaching the Play Offs, Team Manager Pete Schroeck is remaining focussed

“We have to win our next two matches, Belle Vue could slip up and allow us through

“Every meeting means something, we are very proud of what we have achieved this year, with a respectable fifth and looking forward to 2025”

Rohan Tungate will again remain on the sidelines as he is still not fit despite trying to return in Sweden on Tuesday night. Luke Killeen will also face a late fitness test after his nasty spill last night.

Killeen was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for precautionary checks on his neck, but there is nothing broken, and it is hoped he can return sooner rather than later.

The Monarch Oxford Cheetahs will then be looking to continue their excellent form in the return fixture against the current Champions Glasgow on Friday. With a healthy twenty-point lead, the Cheetahs are hopeful of maintaining their 100% aggregate bonus point record.

The Real Mini Company Oxford Chargers powered by S D Timmo Car Sales then complete the weeks action, when they take on the Leicester Lion Cubs in WSRA National League action on Sunday at Sandy Lane. Tickets are on sale at www.oxfordspeedway.club/tickets
