Oxford Speedway to host Golf Day on eve of the new season – and supporters are invited to get involved!

Oxford Speedway will host its first golf day on the eve of the new season, and supporters are invited to be part of the fun by joining the club’s riders, management and sponsors.

Studley Wood Golf Club near Horton-cum-Studley will host the inaugural event on Tuesday, March 21 – the day before press and practice – with tee-off scheduled for 1pm.

It’s the first opportunity for groups of friends, family, colleagues and individuals to meet Oxford Cheetahs and Chargers squads ahead of tapes-up the following week when Swindon Robins Select visit Oxford Stadium for a challenge fixture on March 29.

The Texas Scramble competition will be followed by an evening meal and an opportunity for those in attendance to speak to the riders.

Club promoter Jamie Courtney is encouraging supporters of all golf abilities to get involved and enjoy a fun day out.

“It’s been a long off-season and we’re all itching to get back out on track next month,” said Courtney. “Developing a great bond between our riders and fanbase is really key and we can’t wait to host our inaugural golf day at Studley Wood on the eve of press and practice. 

“The Texas Scramble format means players of all golfing abilities are welcome to join us. Everyone in each group will tee-off from the same spot with the best placed shot used by everyone for their second stroke.

“There’ll be plenty of laughs and good conversation to be had through the day as we all look forward to the beginning of our second campaign at Oxford Stadium. We hope to see a good turn out and delivering a fun day for all.”
