Monarch back onboard as Oxford Cheetahs’ title sponsor for 2023!

The world-famous Oxford Cheetahs will again be known as the ‘Monarch Cheetahs’ in 2023 after the club’s title sponsor renewed its agreement ahead of the start of the new season.

Monarch Minibus and Car Service first partnered with Oxford Speedway at the beginning of the millennium and came back on-board last year as part of the sport’s extraordinary return to Sandy Lane.

Based in Garsington, Monarch works in partnership with Oxford Ambulance Service to provide patients with private transport to and from hospital. Its services help ease the strain on NHS vehicles and allow staff to prioritise patients where necessary.

The Monarch Cheetahs’ 2023 campaign begins Wednesday, March 29, when they host Swindon Robins Select in a pre-season challenge fixture at Oxford Stadium. Cheetahs’ competitive campaign starts a week later when Poole Pirates visit OX4 in the all-new BSN Series.

Ken Soanes, speedway enthusiast and Monarch owner, said: “Last year was the season we never thought would happen, and it gave us great pleasure to support Oxford Speedway through the club’s regeneration campaign.

“There was a great feel-good atmosphere every Wednesday night and to see supporters packing all four corners of Oxford Stadium after so many years away was great to see.

“I truly believe this year can be bigger and better. A competitive team has been built and if the squad stays clear of injury hopefully they can mount a strong challenge for silverware.

“We’re right behind the club’s efforts to engage a new generation of speedway fans too by making all U16s free. It’s a great initiative and one we’re proud to support.”
