Walk Speedway Update

WITH a distance of more than four marathons stretching in front of them, the Talk Speedway podcast Walkers set out on Sunday morning from Berwick speedway aiming for Redcar.

Thankfully they don’t have to run it, but it’s a major undertaking anyway as Scott Frame, Greg Blair, Laura Pollard and guests head off into the distance. Laura is part of the vital backroom team at Oxford Speedway.

Their aim is to raise £5,000 for the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund and they are already well on the way to that, boosted by collections at both Edinburgh and Berwick last weekend – £3,460 from their JustGiving plus £797 from the two club collections. There’s a good chance that the target will be exceeded!

There will be guests joining them en route and some have now been named – Danyon Hume, Jye Etheridge, Drew Kemp, Leon Flint, Jason Edwards and the one and only Chris Morton, hero of the Cardiff to Wroclaw bike ride, back in action!

Any others, famous or not, who want to catch up and walk a bit of the route will be warmly welcomed.
