PREVIEW: Spires Hope for an Ace Northern Excursion
The BetGoodwin Oxford Spires take a trip up the M6 when they travel to the National Speedway Stadium to take on the ATPI Belle Vue Aces on Monday evening, tapes up at 7.30pm.
The Spires have had a very difficult start to the season and have only been able to complete one fixture with a fully fit side. The Spires will be boosted on Monday as Erik Riss will return to the side following his short spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury riding for the Redcar Bears.
Peter Kildemand, who picked up an injury in his first ride at Sandy Lane a couple of weeks ago, remains on the sidelines with some nerve damage to his back. Team Manager Peter Schroeck has booked Dan Thompson as a guest, and he will line up at number four.
Schroeck acknowledges that it has been a tough start to the season
“I understand the fans are not happy, but I am working with these guys to turn this hard start into a positive.
“It is a long season which is unpredictable, and nobody knows what the outcome will be
Schroeck concluded with a rallying call to fans
