PREVIEW: OXS Oxford Spires Wrap Up Premiership Series A Fixtures

The OXS Oxford Spires will wrap up their A series ROWE Motor Oil Premiership meetings at Kings Lynn tomorrow night (Monday) and will be looking to put on a stronger display in front of the Eurosport TV Cameras than on their debut last month.

The Kings Lynn Stars have had a nightmare start to 2024, and languish at the foot of the table, with just one point. They will be without number one Tobiasz Musielak who is withholding his services, and they have booked Richard Lawson as a guest. They have recently taken steps to strengthen their septet with Czech Grand Prix star Jan Kvech making his UK debut on Monday, with Patrick Wodjlo moving down to reserve.

Oxford will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of Thursday night’s abandonment and boast a number of Kings Lynn track specialists in the side. Both Lewis Kerr and Erik Riss have ridden extensively for the Stars over recent seasons and ‘Magic’ Janowski was a member of the Kings Lynn side back in 2012.

It will be the first return to Kings Lynn for Oxford Team Manager Pete Schroeck since he left as manager of the Stars back in 2021. Whilst appreciating the size of the task in hand, his message to the Spires one to seven was emphatic
“Failure is not an option!”.

A reminder that the Oxford Chargers are in National Development League action this afternoon (Sunday) at 3pm and the Oxford Monarch Cheetahs will face their toughest test yet in the Cab Direct Championship on Wednesday when the Poole Pirates come to town.

Tickets for both fixtures are on the Oxford Speedway website here: https://oxfordspeedway.club/tickets/
