PREVIEW: SPIRES ON THE ROAD FOR TELEVISION PREMIERE

The OXS Oxford Spires travel to Leicester tomorrow (Monday) in ROWE Motor Oil Premiership action and will make their Eurosport Premiere in a mouth-watering clash to maintain their current play-off spot in the table.

Oxford are currently fourth in the table and the Lions sit just below in fifth, two points behind the Spires. A win for the Lions would place them in fourth based on a superior points difference making this a key battle as the Premiership approaches the halfway point.

Leicester have been beaten twice at home, and Team Manager Pete Schroeck is not discounting anything
“It is possible to get something there…we know that one or two of our riders are not quite delivering what they are capable of, and we are getting closer to it so hopefully Monday will be a good day for us”

The Spires track an unchanged side and will be hoping that Rising Star Ashton Boughen can continue his form from Workington, utilising his knowledge of the Leicester Track from riding in their National League side last year.

Boughen first tried speedway just two years ago at the age of fourteen and reflected on his remarkable progress over the weekend
“What a great journey these two years have been. Looking forward to seeing where I am in another 2 years time!”
