RESULT: Poole Pirates 58 Monarch Cheetahs 32
The Monarch Oxford Cheetahs experienced a difficult night away to defending British Speedway Championship winners Poole Pirates.
Pirates established a six-point lead by heat six but asserted their dominance on the evening in the second part of the meeting to win by 26 points. Scott Nicholls was the Monarch Cheetahs’ highest points scorer with nine with reserve Dillion Ruml shined at reserve with 6+3 from five rides.
Oxford racer Nathan Stoneman also made his Cheetahs debut, registering 2+1 from his three rides which included a nasty spill in heat 12 after being sent over the handlebars on the home straight of lap two.
The Monarch Cheetahs are back in action on Wednesday night when hosting Poole Pirates at Oxford Stadium (7.30pm). Tickets for the meeting are SOLD OUT.
