Oxford Speedway to raffle bespoke electric scooter in aid of three good causes
Oxford Speedway partners TiSTO UK is proud to provide one lucky supporter the opportunity to win a bespoke 3000W electric scooter through a season-long raffle.
The retro styled Luna has been fully customised by Masked Designs and features the latest team colours and is airbrushed with a portrait of club legend Hans Nielsen, who signed the scooter on opening night.
Capable of reaching a top speed of 28mph, the scooter has a range of 40 miles and can be charged at home or work using a three-pin plug (240V). The scooter comes with a two-year warranty and will be registered with the DVLA so it is completely road legal if the user has a valid CBT licence or has held a full driving licence prior to 2001.
The scooter will be on display for the first time on Wednesday (April 20) when the Monarch Cheetahs host Poole Pirates in a sold-out British Speedway Championship tie at Oxford Stadium.
All proceeds raised from ticket sales will support three causes, with 40% of funds donated to the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund, 40% to Oxford Speedway’s Academy and 20% to Sobell House.
Raffle tickets can be purchased either online or at Oxford Stadium on race nights through the season for just £5, with the winner announced later in the year. A signed picture of the Monarch Cheetahs squad for 2022 and Hans Nielsen signed opening night programme will be included in the prize.
Chris Gregory, a Director of TiSTO UK, said: “We’re really pleased with the final design. We hope the chance to win a bespoke Oxford Speedway electric scooter signed by the team and Hans Nielsen appeals to the club’s fanbase.”
Lesley Vernon, a Partner at Collaborative Engineering Services, said: “We are the UK Distributor for TiSTO and our company was born from the work that we were doing with Collaborative Engineering Services.
“We work hard to provide innovative engineering solutions for sustainable technology to make the world a better place. It’s why we’re thrilled to be able to give this one-off prize with aim of raising vital funds for good causes.
“The bike will complete its first lap of Oxford Stadium ahead of Wednesday’s meeting against Poole Pirates. We’d like to thank everyone in advance who supports the raffle and wish them the very best of luck!”
Founded in 1948, the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund is synonymous with the sport for providing support and assistance to riders of British-based teams who live with life-limiting conditions or short-term injuries as a result of racing incidents.
The raffle will also support Sobell House – an Oxfordshire charity which offers specialist palliative care to patients and families facing life threatening illness, death and bereavement.
Oxford Speedway promoter Jamie Courtney added: “We’re really grateful to the support of Collaborative Engineering Services and TiSTO for building this bespoke Oxford Speedway scooter.
“Chris and Lesley have been keen supporters of the club’s rebirth and the entire regeneration project at Oxford Stadium. They operate a company with good intentions and funds raised from the raffle will be vital to the three causes they have chosen to support, including the launch of our academy.
“The bike looks fantastic and is a must-win prize for any Oxford Speedway fan. We’d like to wish everyone who enters the very best of luck.”
